Br. Guy Consolmagno SJ (Obserwatorium Watykańskie) otrzymał Carl Sagan Medal

Brother Guy Consolmagno, S.J., has won the Carl Sagan Medal for

„outstanding communication by an active planetary scientist to the general public”.

The Medal is awarded by the Division for Planetary Sciences of the American Astronomical Society.

The Medal will be presented at the 46th annual Division for Planetary Sciences meeting in Tucson, Arizona in November, 2014.

Fr. Bill Stoeger, SJ (May 10, 1943 – March 24, 2014)

Bill Stoeger was a staff scientist for the Vatican Observatory Research Group in Tucson, specializing in theoretical cosmology, high-energy astrophysics, and interdisciplinary studies relating to science, philosophy and theology. The eight volumes of the Vatican Observatory and the Center for Theology and the Natural Sciences series on „God’s Action in the World” attest magnificently to this broad-based work.

3. rocznica śmierci abp. Józefa Życińskiego / In Memoriam

Większość swoich naukowych publikacji poświęcił on relacjom między religią a nauką. Podkreślał, że nie może być sprzeczności między rozumem, który uczciwie szuka pełnej prawdy o świecie a wiarą religijną gdyż to urągałoby samemu Bogu, który wyposażył człowieka w rozum. W poniedziałek, 10 lutego, przypadła 3. rocznica nagłej śmierci abp. Życińskiego.
